music

ypok2 is:
nate smith (drums), abe forman-greenwald (vocals), and lynn chen (vocals, keys)

Ahhhh, music.  My mom is an opera singer, my dad's an ethnomusicologist and my brother's a rocker so naturally it's a huge part of my life.  Acting's been my main passion for the past six years, but music has been there since I was born.

YPOK2 began years and years ago, when me, my then-boyfriend Abe (my now-husband), and our good friend Nate wrote some songs for fun.  We were then asked to perform a few of our favorites for a friends' recording project, and thus, our music was forever preserved.  All of our other songs are waiting for some more good, free studio time, so for now, they exist only in our heads.  Our uber-drummer Nate is also a member of Shy Child, a band that's going to be HUGE.  You heard it here first, people.

YPOK2 stands for "You Pretty Okay Too."  Mr. Miyagi says it to Daniel-San during a heartwarming scene in "The Karate Kid."  Before the year 2000, people thought it had to do with Y2K.  How silly.

I also do some solo singing - me and my piano; depressing, slow stuff I wrote years and years ago- that is so poorly recorded I'm embarassed to show it to the public.  But I'm going to anyway.

I hope that you have fun listening to the music I make and enjoy, and maybe acquire some new favorites for yourself.
